The lordship of Vregille dates back to the 11th century. At that time, a first castle is mentioned, consisting of a round tower and four square towers, with the mission of protecting the passage on the river Ognon... In the middle of the 19th century, Auguste de Vregille inherited an important library for which he built a pavilion adjacent to the central dwelling on the south side with symmetry on the north side, thus giving the castle its current appearance. At the same time, he also had the English park enlarged, which then took on the appearance we know today. The Château de Vregille with its orangery, its park and its important cabinet of curiosities is a true family home, typical of the Franc-Comté region, in the spirit of the parliamentary houses that line the banks of the Ognon. Guided tour by appointment, from 01 June to 30 September.
